I can’t say enough good things about Niki Auto Motor. I brought my Mark 4 VR6 GTI to them after a previous mechanic left it completely disassembled—with parts missing and the car basically in pieces. I was honestly starting to lose hope that it would ever run again. But Joe, the owner, and Bob, the mechanic who worked on it, absolutely came through. Not only did they take on a job most shops wouldn’t touch, but they also managed to track down what was needed, put everything back together, and did it all in record time. Joe’s attention to detail and expertise with Volkswagens is top-notch. The car runs beautifully now. These guys know what they’re doing and genuinely care about their work. If you’ve got a project you think is too far gone, I highly recommend giving Niki Auto Motor a call. They brought my GTI back to life.
5 stars is an understatement A few days before this past snow storm, my sunroof was broken and there was no way to manually close it. The dealer quoted $5200 + tax just for parts… and it was also going to take weeks! Joe took a look at my car and within a few minutes had 3 different options and after telling him I need the car for work He promised to have the car done within 3 days. 3 days later, he had the car ready with a higher qualify part than promised. Joe and his team exceeded expectations and went above and beyond for me I greatly appreciate all the time and care they put in. They finished the car within 3 days and charged a fraction of the costs the dealer was quoting.
Highly recommended if you enjoy being given one quote then receiving a bill triple the original price, then begin threatened to keep your car if you don't pay up and being insulted and cussed at relentlessly afterwords. I received more abuse dealing with him in a week than I have in a lifetime. Having terminal cancer is more pleasant than doing business with Jo.
BEWARE - noting my experience DO NOT GIVE DEPOSIT OF ANY MONEY. THE CAR IS THE DEPOSIT! JOE SOMODI still has robbed me of my $3,000 which I have as initial payment to have my car fixed. No work was done on the vehicle for several months. He still has my money. READ MY EXPERIENCE! TERRIBLE! Car went in for Transmission Repair, 7 months later car is still not fixed and now being charged storage fees. Car is being held and won't be released unless I pay for the storage fees, mean while the vehicle is still not fixed and the cost of the storage fees is more than double the quoted price of repair. Car has been sitting outside ever since and blocked by other vehicles. This is my experience and I am letting everyone know about my experience with this auto repair shop. Update 1; Shop still has my $3,000 deposit which I initially gave as part of my repair on good faith. Car has been seized from Niki Auto Motor through a court order. Car has significant weathering to it and body damage. What a pleasant experience with this auto shop. More to come. Update 2; Given this is a lengthy process there will be future updates made to the review. I was threatened by Joe Somodi of a law suit due to my google review. Will not remove Update 3; Filed a law suit against Niki Auto Motor and have reached a default judgement due to lack of correspondence with this matter. There has been NO communication done by the shop or the shop owner Joe Somodi to rectify the situation at any grounds. The court will have the final say in this matter. Update 4; Case currently standing in court
Niki Auto Storage. I must have misread the contract when I dropped my car and money off. This is a storage facility not a repair shop. Almost a year and one excuse after another. Now wants me to pay storage fees. I would have had better luck at jiffy lube and getting my car repaired.
These guys are absolutely amazing!!!! Extremely knowledgeable and not like other shops that specialize in German cars, these guys actually give me the time of day. Very professional environment. I’m a technician myself and I explained over the phone my symptoms I was having with the car Joe diagnosed my issue spot on what the problem was.. My A3 went to another shop that “specialize in audis” And was constantly getting the run around. If your seeking a professional German automotive repair shop this is the shop your looking for!!!!! I came across the gem of a shop by accident. I was looking for a door for another car and ran into Joe last Saturday afternoon. Told him I was having some suspension issues with my VW Golf, he took it for a test ride and said to come Monday to have a proper look. Was there this morning, in and out for a very reasonable price. The shop I was going to beforehand had it on 3 separate occasions and couldn’t find the issue. Thanks Joe!
