High quality baked goods for a fair price. Their walnut cranberry loaf was fantastic for a turkey avocado sandwich. Staff were friendly and efficient. Not sure where they make everything but everything seemed freshly baked. Only downside is that they do not have a bread slicer so if you’re grabbing a loaf you will need to slice it yourself. For a mid to high end bakery house this service would be greatly welcomed.
We visited the Sherway Gardens and decided to try out the Danish Pastry House. We have an innate liking for rum balls and gave that a shot first. At 6 rum balls for $6, it seemed a deal one could not refuse. And we were not disappointed. They were delicious to say the least and not saccharine sweet as we were used to having before from other bakeries. Clearly, the Danish Pastry House became our favorite for rum balls and we will look no further in future. Then my husband decided to try the chicken quiche and we loved it too! So we decided to take out some double Belgian chocolate brownie and chocolate chip cookie for home. Very friendly staff too.
The pastries at Danish Pastry House in Sherway Gardens look amazing, but unfortunately, they didn’t taste as good as they appeared. I found most of them to be overly sweet, which overshadowed any subtle flavors they might have had. I was especially disappointed with the iced coffee. It tasted stale and lacked freshness — more like it had been sitting in a dispenser all day (which it visibly had) rather than made fresh. My homemade iced coffee is much better. Overall, the place has a nice aesthetic and presentation, but the quality didn’t quite meet my expectations.
As a regular customer who genuinely enjoys your offerings, it’s disappointing to say that the service experience lately has been far from satisfying. It’s not about calling anyone out personally, but there seems to be a consistent lack of training—especially when it comes to preparing something as basic as coffee. Orders are often made incorrectly, and what’s more concerning is the attitude that follows when you try to address the mistake. Good customer service goes a long way—especially when patrons are investing their time and money. A little courtesy and attention to detail can make all the difference. Right now, it feels like both are missing. It may be time to consider refreshing the team or providing some much-needed customer service and product training. Your customers deserve better.
Too sweet for my liking. The pastry is well made. Came in for a pastry at closing time. While in line they asked me what I wanted and put it aside for me. After waiting 10min in line I found out they had sold it. They didn't have any more left of the pastry I had chosen and didn't offer anything in recompense.
I came for some delicious pastries and met a very nice lady that came to serve me. She was very gracious and was very helpful with her suggestions and allowed me to taste test the bread. I didn't like the yogurt bread but the walnut breath was very good! Thank you for a pleasant experience.
There is a ton of different things to choose from each with its own unique taste and texture. One of my favorites is a coconut cake (I don't know the actual name) but it's delicious and moist every single time. It can't go wrong. Friendly people and always willing to let you try some of the pastries if you find yourself unsure of what to get. Definitely would recommend taking a look.
