We hosted a private daytime event for 30 people at Canto Lounge and had a great experience. The space is beautiful and well-suited for an intimate gathering, and the staff were professional, attentive, and easy to work with. Food and drinks were well organized, and everything ran smoothly. Would definitely recommend this venue. April and her team were terrific. Their down to earth, and professional manner is something that is hard to come by these days. The manager Mounim was exceptional from inception of the event to execution. He is truly a commensurate professional, beyond what I have seen at this venue previously. This venue is known historically as a legendary jazz venue. I really hope they bring the piano back.

An Unforgettable Culinary Experience at Canto Canto is truly one of those rare places where every detail — from the view to the aroma — comes together to create something unforgettable. I started with the Queen Salad, a beautiful mix of apple, fennel, beets, pistachios, and creamy buffalo cheese. Fresh, colorful, and perfectly balanced — every bite felt like a celebration of flavor. The risotto was simply outstanding. Creamy, rich, and cooked to absolute perfection — each spoonful was a little moment of happiness. For the main course, I had the lamb, which was tender, full of flavor, and wonderfully paired with topinambur and just-right heirloom carrots. The combination was elegant and deeply satisfying. Everything about this dinner touched all the senses — the spectacular view, the inviting aromas, and the unforgettable taste. A special thanks to Chef Francesco Ursini for his spot-on wine recommendation and to the entire kitchen team for their flawless work. You can feel the passion and dedication behind every dish. Canto is not just a restaurant — it’s an experience!
Honestly, my review is based on ordering a coffee that was over priced and witnessing from what I could tell the manager and a waitress arguing over whether someone can get a free tea with their continental breakfast. The manager seemed really upset and was speaking quite rudely to the waitress. I regret buying a coffee and staying at this hotel
This place is definitely a hidden gem! It’s intimate, charming, and has an exceptional atmosphere. The service is great, the food is delicious, and it’s a great spot for a date night or a special occasion. It’s also a great place for weddings, engagements, parties, or private events. I definitely like the feel of this place and would definitely recommend it. Five out of five!
I arrived at 7 PM for a 7:30 performance, and got one of the last tables available. But others freed up fairly regularly throughout the night. The service was wonderful, the food was delicious. I ordered the charcuterie board and enjoyed the variety of cheeses and vegetables. The venue is perfect. It’s antique and homey without feeling cheap or cramped. Its designed to be comfortable; made for sitting, and eating slowly, and enjoying good music. There’s no rush to leave once you’re done your food, and no matter where you sit, you are close to the band and feel connected. The whole vibe is different from other jazz bars I’ve frequented - it’s familiar and yet respectful. People listen carefully and talk quietly. There’s an air of happiness and enjoyment. I have lived around the corner for decades and often thought of visiting. Now that I know the hidden quality that exists here, I will definitely be back!
Great ambiance and live music. Also, very affordable food and drink prices. What really bothered me was the service! I visited on Saturday Nov 3rd 2018 for the 730pm show and the service was awful. I had to call the server each and every time. When we walked in, he did not even acknowledge us or offer water. Definitely not what I was expecting from Old mill Toronto! When I asked him about the service, he tells me they serve two restaurants and it was a busy day. I wont be returning.
