Navjot and Mohammed were the absolute best! Food was great, service was even better. Temperature of the place was a little colder than usual but everything else pretty great!
We came here for the dinner. The girl at the front didnt let us to dine in so we decided for takeout. But aftersometime a couple came there and they allow them for dine in. Thats totally disrespectfull behaviour. They have a need to learn how to treat the customers equally with respect. Totally spoiled our mood and decided to never come here again.
we have become so regular to this restaurant. foods are just delicious, taste fresh. Aman was our server who was very pleasant and her food recommendations were good.
Great service, very clean place, and delicious food! Everything was fresh and well-prepared. Highly recommend Deal Roty for anyone looking for great indian taste and friendly service. Express Linen Laundry Inc.
Came here first time to try Moong Deal Halwa. Was greeted by friendly and patient staff. Got the order it was warm and tasted good, but for us it felt a bit dry and maybe not that sweet as I thought. Maybe this is how it is but either way pretty good worth a try. Will be back to try sone main courses. Check them out and give a try great job to the team
UPDATE: Days ago, I had ordered MILD butter chicken with basmati rice in a bowl, not as a full plate, to eat in the lovely, small dining room. Good price. It didn't take long to get my meal served by the really gracious cashier/server. The butter chicken was tender and delicious. The plain basmati rice was cooked perfectly. But, the tomato sauce that was supposed to be mild was far too spicy for my mouth. Every bite got progressively hotter and hotter. I drank about three glasses of water from the silver pitcher of water that the thoughtful server had given to me. Even when I smeared off the sauce from the chicken pieces, it was too spicy hot for me to enjoy. My mouth was on fire, figuratively speaking. I could not finish my meal which is really not like me at all. While walking home, I chewed gum to try to alleviate my discomfort until I got home. Very disappointing experience for me! The female server was truly gracious. She did not see me leave with the flames shooting out of my mouth! Just kidding. Wonderful service. It was very pleasant sitting in the dining room to eat my dinner. But, I will not be returning for any food ever again, unfortunately. No take outs and no dining in the restaurant. Toronto is such a multicultural city. It is a joy to be able to try out different cuisines from other cultures, such as Indian foods like samosas. My diet while growing up in Toronto many years ago was pretty bland but I've been adapting fairly well over the years to trying different kinds of foods with mild spices from different cultures. As an example, I've eaten butter chicken meals that were frozen and selling in supermarkets. Tasted so good! That's why I wanted to eat the real version here at Daal Roti. What I suggest to Daal Roti is that they offer MILD foods that are genuinely mild and more easily palatable by people such as me who are not Indian and have not grown up eating spicy food. I did stress to the server when I ordered the butter chicken that I had wanted it to be mild and she had reassured me that it would be. Not so... I am really disappointed that there is no point in my returning to this local Indian restaurant if my body won't cooperate. My mind is willing but my body calls the shots! Maybe others would find this "mild" food to be genuinely mild, but not me, sad to say. I am reluctant to say anything bad about Daal Roti but I felt that I should share my experience for others to consider. For anyone who can tolerate and enjoy spicy Indian foods, I would highly recommend that you try out Daal Roti in Rexdale. There is a large menu from which to choose items that sound yummy. The restaurant is so pleasant inside with gleaming wine glasses, dishes and cutlery. The overhead music was diverse and easy to listen to while dining there. They also do takeout orders, of course. It did not take long to get my food. It wasn't busy so I had no trouble getting my own table. So, I do recommend Daal Roti, just not to me, unfortunately only because I obviously can't handle spicy foods. This Daal Roti restaurant is located on the lower level of the whole Costco complex at Islington Avenue and Rexdale Blvd. Easy access to Daal Roti from Silver Reign Drive at Rexdale Blvd. Also from Rexdale Blvd. slightly east of that traffic intersection and also there is a driveway access to the underground leading from southbound Islington Avenue a short distance from Rexdale Blvd. Tons of parking which is sheltered from the winter weather while you park your car on this ground level parking lot. It is not in a basement level of the complex. There are other restaurants and stores on both levels, including Costco, of course. The road construction in this area ended so it's safe to drive in this "downtown Rexdale" area again. Daal Roti in Rexdale is a Canadian-owned business that is worthy of being supported.
Ordered Chicken Curry from this location. Couple of pieces of chicken and rest is oil. Not impressed And you replied you don't use such utensils, etc. i went home and warmed the chicken curry myself Reply to owner: I can show you my receipt as I purchased today from you at 5:30pm
