Good hair cut at a reasonable price. My stylist, Josh, is excellent and very pleasant. No wonder he is always busy and you have to book him well in advance. The booking system is the old fashion telephone call that keeps staff busy answering and it is not very convenient for the clients. Not everyone in the hair salon is as skilled as Josh and I had a bad experience in the past where I had to rebook the appointment.
Won’t be going back. They would rather leave early on a Friday than take a paying customer who walks in 1 hour before closing. We walked in with the kids at 6:04pm, they close at 7pm. There was 1 person waiting for a haircut. They said sorry no they would not take the kids, it was too late. Not sure how 1 hour before close with 1 person waiting it too late? To add to this, this was our second time going. The first wasn’t the best experience, but we were willing to give it a second chance since we live so close by. They are not good with kids whatsoever. In fact, my kids said they “yelled” at them after because they were not very patient with them and they were snappy. Bottom line, don’t waste your time going here.
Good to very good cut. Friendly chatty staff. Very close to Royal York subway. Unfortunately this used to be my "go to" chain for a "cheap reliable cut" (was ~$21-22 4-5 years ago) but now it's ~$32. incl tax for Men's haircut. Ridiculous, like many things now high inflation, why? Is it justified?
My kids love going there. They get a haircut and lollipop afterward. The ladies there are very nice and welcoming, and Rhonda is amazing. Be sure to call in advance because it gets busy at times.
BEWARE -AVOID some hairdressers. I used to love this place and the warm atmosphere and really adore the skills of most hairdressers who work there. Unfortunately for the past two times, there was Jacqueline, a red head, 40-50 year old lady who sucks at cutting boys hair and can't seem to be able to take any negative remarks. Today I made a mistake by not saying NO when I saw that it was only her who was available. She did an ugly bowl cut last time for my other son and had an awful attitude. I was thinking let's try again on my younger son whose hair is much easier to handle. I was wrong. She did an all-equal length bowl cut again! I asked for a bit of layering above the forehead and she literally almost made an uneven patch. As a matter of fact, I said it was not good and asked another hairdresser if she could fix it. That's where Jacqueline had gone crazy, saying that she was not my puppy, called me a b**** and pointing fingers at me while making a racist "I don't know where you are from" comment. She also blames my son for moving too much (6 year old kid!). We will never go back. It is a pity because other hairdressers are rather kind.
I have been going to this Magicuts for 20 years. I was first with Violet who is great when she was busy she handed me off to Margaret and Nancy. I have had a couple others but for last few years I have been with Josh. He is amazing. Attention to detail, not upset if you want a little more done the end and great to chat with. We have fun and laugh talking about life. I look forward to my cut at Magicuts. Right across from Royal york subway for those that don't drive.
They are very attentive and such warm people, usually Josh takes care of my cuts and color, and does a splendid job but they are all amazing. Thank you!!
