Element Event Solutions has been my go-to rental company for many, many years! I've worked with them from a venue perspective, as a third party event planner, and for my own personal events. They have always been very thorough, making sure I can find what I need, and also very flexible, which is extremely helpful. They have a wide range of rental items, and their delivery and pick up team is AMAZING! They are patient and kind, even when we have to navigate through some very inconvenient unloading situations. Of course, their service team is great too. Sometimes it does take a few days to hear back from them, but I never feel like my events are unimportant, no matter how big or small.
We used Element Event Solutions to rent coffee makers for our event. We are a not-for-profit so price is important to us. They were cheaper than what we had been paying and were much more convenient to pick up and drop off at! Their hours of operation were also very convenient. So glad we found this company. We will be using them again.
We used Higgins for some items for a backyard party & have mixed feelings about the experience. - There were some items that I could not rent from my preferred rental company. I was able to get all of those additional items from Higgins, so on the pros side, they do have a huge selection of items. - I found the entire quote process annoying. Any time I needed to make a change to my order I had to email my rep, rather than changing quantities on my end. - The communication initially with our sales rep was frustrating. I sent a quote request & the rep sent the invoice. I sent an email requesting the following information: 1. If we were to pick-up and drop off instead of paying for delivery, what would our timeline be? 2. How tall are the umbrellas (i.e length when closed)? We want to confirm they will fit in our van or if we need our trailer. 3. When the round tables are folded, how tall are they? Same thing as above wondering if we will need our trailer. I also sent a couple order revisions. I didn't hear back until the following week when I received an email asking if I still needed the order. I responded saying that if they answered my questions & made my requested revisions I would be ordering. This is the email I got back, "The tables and umbrella require a 5’ft clearing – can you empty your van and put down all the back seats The umbrella bases are very and large" Not very helpful. I sent a follow-up with a breakdown of the revised item list I wanted, saying we would bring our van & trailer to pick-up the items in case the van itself wasn't sufficient. In that email I requested 2 additional wood long tables & sent a screenshot of the exact ones I wanted. I said I didn't want linens for these 2 (I already had some at home). I got back an email saying, "I would highly recommend cover the extra wide table" Tired of the back and forth I agreed to the linens to just be done with it. The new order invoice & payment link came in with a highlighted note that said "this will require a cube van." I responded with, "When you say it will require a cube van, are you saying that we cannot come pick these items up with our regular van & open trailer?" Their response: "The 8’ft x 42” is a large item – I do not believe it will fit in your van" My response: "Yes, that's why I was suggesting we bring a trailer. I want to confirm we will not be turned away from picking up if we don't have a cube van. The items will fit in our open trailer no problem." Their response, "As long as you can get it to fit safely – I wont be able to refund the items if they don’t fit" My response, "We don't think we'll have issues fitting the items so let's go forward with it... For the linens on the long tables we have some at home that will fit, so we don't need them! We will still need linens for the card tables." The re-sent invoice had all linens on it again so I paid for it because I was so tired of back & forth. - In the end I needed to arrange delivery bc we didn't have time to pick-up the items ourselves. At this point the rep (same one) was very helpful & made it happen.The delivery process was easy but expensive. Delivery guys were very nice however initially we got 2 8ft plastic tables instead of the wood ones I specifically requested. At this point the sales rep was prompt & helpful, saying it was a mistake on their end. They ended up getting the tables to me before our event which was huge. - The items were in bad condition. The tables had TONS of gouges & scratches. They were being covered, but still. The umbrellas are our biggest complaint. We had to manually tighten the bases of all of them because they were so tippy & falling over in the smallest wind. Even then, we had to add cinder blocks on each to prevent them falling over. Huge time waster & not aesthetically pleasing. They also had these ugly white Higgins stickers all over the black base. SO TACKY & unnecessary. Overall a disappointing experience. Honestly I would really appreciate some kind of reimbursement for all of the hassle. Hope this helps someone else.
I rented out an oven and a warmer for my event and when picking up my order I was told that the double oven I rented as well as the red warmer we're accidentally given to someone else. They replaced my order with a single oven and another warmer. Upon returning the equipment that I was given, I was then told that I didn't return the same oven even though all the markings on the oven had Higgins Rental all over them. They proceeded to charge my credit card for the replacement value of the warming oven even though I had asked for proof (Video surveillance) that I returned the wrong oven. Harry from Higgins will only say to me that the wrong oven being on his floor is proof enough which is unacceptable. I don't have their oven, I don't have any need for a warming oven so why would I return the wrong one. Buyer beware and make sure you take pictures of what you pick up and what you return because they will pull a fast one. They don't have a warehouse management system/barcoding system for their items nor do they sign off on your return so they can claim that you didn't return anything or that you returned the wrong product.
First class experience. Our last minute order was handled professionally and swiftly. No mistakes. This company is miles ahead of their competition in the city!
We've had a fantastic relationship with Higgins, using their services for events big and small. Recently, we hosted a massive week-long event for 8000 people, and Higgins' team was simply amazing! From the sales team to the admin staff and drivers, everyone was professional, reliable, and super friendly.
