My kind of place. Familiar and polite environment, patrons are friendly people, easy to work in with. Not packed up (like those chain gyms) which lets you really work through your sets. Plenty of different machines and racks. Plenty of benches. Variety of weights. Owner is a friendly guy and is very willing to help teach, advise, or correct. He also does personal training and a family member of mine really loves the variety and personal touch of it. Parking is in the back.
Awesome gym!!! I've started coming here just before the last lockdown and I love it. I've read some reviews about the cleanliness, size and rates and I just laugh because this place is extremely clean. It's a small community gym that never claimed to be a giant gym. I feel if you don't like it just move on. So proud of them for surviving all the lockdowns. Awesome atmosphere!!! Great employees!!! Good job Before and after fitness club!!!
I have seen some bad review before I join, after I joined I noticed the best place to excercise and the best person (the owner) to work with. Clean place, friendly. I enjoy this place: before&after.
Terrible. The owner keep asking you to put the equipments on the original location even if you didn't use it. Old and poor managed gym. Don't wast your time going there.
I trained here for over 2 years. I tried to make the most of a very tiny spaced gym floor and small change room. The equipment is good but miminal. I would not trained here if you are a regular hardcore trainer though ,as if there are 3 or more people training it makes it combersome to train as you literally trip over each other for space and equipment. Also during this period he closed the gym arbitrarily a handful of times for non sequential reasons. In closing the owner is way too overprotective of his business and while you are training he micro manages your every move when you are working out. I’m writing this review not for retaliation but to inform people to really do their homework first before joining. Sadly I don’t think the owner realizes that there are over 300 gyms in the gta area. Make your choice wisely. The reason why I stayed for over 2 years was because I thought it would get better, I was sadly mistaken.
I live in the area and was excited to actually see a gym in the area nearby. when this place first opened. However the whole experience was disappointing. I was one of the first people who signed up. Gary has an attitude problem, it was evident from the first day I walked in. The equipment is old and some not working properly, he has bought them from some refurbished places and fixes them on his own. Some of the equipment show heavy usage. This can cause injuries for people directly or indirectly. I see some complaining in the reviews about how he complains about equipment usage and he is responding about safe usage. I am not surprised. Also even during winter times, the heat is not properly on or sparsely on, the equipment are also very cold to touch. What is even worse is his attitude, he gives a lot of attitude to a lot of people and for someone who is trying to build a customer base and establishing his business, that is surprising (I started and manage / own two client facing companies myself for the past 10 years). He only seems to try and pay a lot of attention and is polite to young good looking women (surprising since his wife runs the place). I left after a few months, I couldn't put up with his attitude or lack of proper working equipment. I was going to be away for a few weeks (3.5 weeks) and I asked to suspend my membership (like most gyms that I was part of), they refused and took my money as well (refused a refund when I wanted to cancel). I go to a gym nearby that is run by the city (York Recreation Centre, where all the programs and gym membership is free for someone from this area) and they have new equipment + the staff are amazing. All the time I was there, I honestly felt that I wasn't welcome, never did I even get a good morning or even a courtesy when Gary shows up. Being a person who lives nearby, I refuse to promote this place. Plus the signage is like a cheap eyesore done by some grade school kids. I am sure I will get some sort of canned or justified response to this.
My personal experience was great. The trainer handed me lots of knowledge ranging from diet to workouts. Its not the best gym in the world but it is a good place to workout.
