3.5 stars. Beautiful products. Great selection of cheeses. But really overpriced. I get that it’s the Kingsway, and cheese is expensive, but their prices are not competitive. The other issue I have is the store setup. The cheese counter is piled high, on the top, with products. I stood there for a bit, unsure if they could see me, I certainly couldn’t see them. When someone finally called out over the pile, I could sort of only see the top of his head, to offer me a sample, he had to reach over the products. Maybe a small thing to some, but it made the interaction seem less personal. Also didn’t find them overly friendly. Global cheese, on Norseman,, shall retain my business
I’m from Montreal, Quebec and I ordered many times a year. They shipped the next day and it arrived always cold even in the summer. They have the best cheeses, even the rare ones and the best customer service!
I bought a 12-month subscription for my husband's birthday. It was okay but seriously nothing out of the ordinary (seriously how many average cheddars can you get in a year; apparently many). I could have done better going to a cheese shop on the regular. Wouldn't do again.
I live in Creston, in the southeast corner of BC between the Purcell and Selkirk mountain ranges. It's a few hours from any big city. When my local cheese shop reduced its selection of stinky cheeses, I went online and found Cheesyplace. I was skeptical about ordering online from such a great distance as Toronto, but my desire for San Agur blue was strong, so I decided to take the chance and ordered 3 cheeses on October 20th. It must have been a trip in a truck then a trip on a plane then two more trips in trucks before it got to Creston, but it made it here on October 23rd. Furthermore, the cheese was wrapped so perfectly that it arrived still cold. Pretty amazing partnership between Cheesyplace and Purolator!
Staff are friendly and very knowledgable. They've got great tidbits to complete a cheese board. Cheese is expensive but also that's kind of everywhere. Had a really good Cheddar with Guinness the other day, and a delicious rich brie.
I ordered a cheese & meat board yesterday to share with friends. It was excellent; everyone loved the selection and presentation. Very impressive! Thanks!
New location on Bloor St is so convenient for Kingsway shopping, but OMG, this place is dangerous, even when you're not hungry. Filled with delicious cheeses and items to go with the cheese, and items that, although they are not on your list, you simply need...
