*update* the owner, Andy reached out to me to meet with us. He gave my son a great first haircut. Super friendly. Went above and beyond to make his first experience a good one. Went here based on other recommendations from other parents for a toddler hair cut. Booked well in advance with the info showing as “child hair cut”. When we arrived the staff was not prepared and totally thrown off by seeing my son. He said it had to “be quick” as he had another appointment coming in. Which I said we had booked this time. He said kids cuts are too hard to do. We left as we didn’t feel comfortable having our first hair cut experience be with someone who was completely uninterested, or trained to handle younger children. Shame to say, since this shop came highly recommended.
My husband has been going to your neighbourhood barbershop for many years. He does not trust anyone but his barber Andy to cut his hair. When it came time for us to give our son his first haircut it only made sense to bring him here. Being a first time mom I wasn’t sure how it was going to go but the whole experience went much better than I anticipated, thanks to Andy. No tears, all laughs. Very professional and patient. Incredible skill to be able to do such a great job on a toddler who won’t quite sit still. We had such a fun time and will definitely be repeat customers.
Unfortunately, I had a bad experience with the owner, Andy. I booked an appointment for 1:00 PM and showed up on time, but had to wait around 8 minutes due to his delay, even though there were no customers with him. On top of that, he was visibly sick and wasn’t wearing a mask — he should take customers' health more seriously. I paid $40 and honestly regret it. I asked for a low fade and specifically told him “don’t go too far”, but he gave me a high fade instead. The sides were uneven, and I pointed out that the right side had noticeably more hair than the left. There was no warm welcome or good customer service, even though it was my first visit — and it will definitely be my last
My son was 2 years old when he got his first real haircut here with Graham and Andy. The staff is so welcoming, patient, and professional. This is the only place my son likes getting haircuts ! I strongly recommend coming to "Your Neighborhood Barber" on Lakeshore Blvd West for Kids haircuts and im sure they are amazing with adults as well. This is honestly the only place that gives my son the best haircuts he always looks so fresh after !! I am not the type to ever leave reviews but I do believe this barbershop deserves nothing but praise and success. Andy and Graham amazing ! I'm giving you guys 1 star for the hair cut I got. Value for money was pretty bad. 40$ with a tip... Honestly what I got is basically well shaved neck, my hair looked like I didn't get a hair cut at all. A Latino barber attended me.
