I didn’t get anything from this place but I gave 5 star ratings because Dave was patiently answering my questions on Facebook marketplace. I would consider this store for sure if I need to get a machine in the future.
terrible customer service, I called them just to get a quote. I noticed and asked why they charge more on the same product compared to other dealer. I am ok paying a bit premium for good after sale service and warranty. and i am all about supporting dealer and local business. but word for word the staff told me “ you can go buy from other dealer, i’m not gonna get it into with you” and hang up the phone. I guess sure lol but relax.
Don’t give them your item to be repaired under warranty. Go elsewhere. They don’t have competent techs. Took multiple visits to get the repair then found out they broke something else during the repair because of which the item no longer works.
I bought a pricey Toro Snow blower from Home Depot that seized up on me in the 2nd year of use. I found A1 Small Engine as a Licensed Repair shop for Toro. They found an internal engine bolt had broken loose and seized the engine. They jumped through hoops providing Toro with pictures and documents and got the repair covered under warranty. Works like a charm now. I could not have asked for better service.
Filed a lifetime warranty claim with Ridgid for a sander. Was instructed to get serviced by A1 Small Engine Shop. I came prepared with proper Ridgid registration and account ID. At drop-off time, I was welcomed by the owner. The rule was to make a $70 deposit for the shop to onboard the repair. Which would be refund if the warranty was accepted. Which the owner said this should "probably be the case". Repair was finished 3 weeks later. Got the refund of the $70 deposit. Overall the staff is professional and courteous. I am satisfied with the way Ridgid honors the lifetime warranty and with A1 Small Engine for the service.
I had a very frustrating experience with A1 Small Engine Repair. I brought in a visibly broken tool and explained that I wasn’t sure if it was still under warranty. The manufacturer directed me to this shop for an evaluation. Upon checking the serial number, they told me the manufacture date was 2022 and that it should be covered, but they needed to confirm with the manufacturer. Based on this, I proceeded with the $80 evaluation fee (including tax). Later, I was informed that the actual manufacture date was much older, meaning the tool was well outside the warranty period. This was something A1 Small Engine Repair should have been able to determine immediately. The tool was visibly broken and required no diagnosis—yet they still charged me for an unnecessary evaluation. When I pointed this out, they took no responsibility for their mistake, offering no apology or accountability. I essentially paid $80 for incorrect information and a waste of time. I would not recommend this shop to anyone looking for honest or competent service.
