This was my first visit to this store, and unfortunately it will also be my last. I brought in about 10 quality pieces (Banana Republic, Michael Kors, and other name brands), folded neatly and even on hangers. While it’s perfectly fine that they chose not to take anything, the way I was treated was extremely disappointing. The staff were curt, offered little explanation, and came across as rude. When returning my items, they tossed them back in a pile in a basket rather than showing basic respect by folding them or handing them back properly. For a store that sells used clothing, the attitude was surprisingly snooty. Customer service is everything, and in this case it was severely lacking. I won’t be consigning or shopping here in the future.
Unfortunately did not have a good experience here. Entered the store for the first time and found there to be an unpleasant odour like a musty smell. Walked around for a few minutes. The woman at the counter did not acknowledge my presence. Went up to the counter to ask her a question. She was talking to another woman who I assumed was another customer. Waited a couple of minutes for them to finish talking. The one that I thought was a customer asked me if I had a question then walked away for the woman behind the counter to answer. I was inquiring about bringing some items into the store and wondered what the procedure was. I found the woman behind the counter unfriendly and abrupt. I will not be bringing items to this store for them to sell or will I be shopping there. This was a huge disappointment as I am new to the area and did hear good reviews about this store Comeback.
As a shopper, I found the prices at the store reasonable, and some items interesting. My experience as a consignor was much less pleasant. I ended up getting $7.31 for an item they sold for $28.62. That's 25%, much lower than most places I've sold with. A second item (a pair of shoes I bought, expensively, in Switzerland) did not sell. When I called to pick them up, I was told that items priced under $50.00 cannot be retrieved, and are given to charity. Apparently, all this is on the website, (which, admittedly, I did not read), making the assumption the store operates like other second-hand stores, that allow retrieval. And, when you bring in the items, they are not priced while you are there, so you can't know what the store has valued them at, anyway! My advice: Buy there, if you want. But DO NOT CONSIGN, unless you're okay with giving your clothing away. And in that case, why not avoid this muddling middle-man, and just take your clothing directly to the Salvation Army!?
This is one of the best consignment shops! I first connected with them during the early days of Covid. The Comeback is located in Ontario, Canada and I’m in South Florida. For more than 4 years, they’ve been acting as my personal shoppers and have become “video” friends! Thank you Kirsten and Lisa and your entire crew for all my goodies through the years. I love dealing with you all! Maybe one day we’ll actually meet!
Love this store! I have been coming for many years buying and selling. The first thing you notice is the color schemes in the store window as you walk by. Very eye catching :). The store is neat and easy to find your size and all the racks are well marked. Lots of different designers at great prices! The girls are friendly and always offer there input. Lisa knows her stuff that is for sure! She has a great gem of a store and I will continue to come and recommend this place to all my friends and family and work associates. All the best in 2020 and Merry Christmas to all!
While I wouldn't personally consider 100% of the items to be "designer", they have a good selection of items that are! They fit a surprising amount in for a small store. The staff was pleasant, but takes a hands off approach (which I, personally, like.) I got a very cute kate spade top! i will be back.
I have been going to this store for years as a seller and a buyer. It is the best consignment store in the city. The prices are fantastic and the staff is very helpful.
